February 21, 2017
Ottawa at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators are two points out of first place in the Atlantic Division but their lineup has been ravaged by injuries as they prepare to open a four-game road trip at the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. It will be the second visit to New Jersey in six days for Ottawa, which posted a 3-0 win over the Devils last Thursday.
Montreal at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
Although neither player is putting up numbers to rival their career best, goaltenders Henrik Lundqvist and Carey Price are a tantalizing matchup any time they square off. Both netminders will be looking for better performances than they turned in just over a month ago when the Montreal Canadiens visit the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
Pittsburgh at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
After sustaining their first loss in regulation since prior to the All-Star break, the Pittsburgh Penguins look to prevent matching a season-high losing skid on Tuesday when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. Pittsburgh saw its nine-game point streak end with a 5-2 setback versus Detroit on Sunday and attempts to avoid losing three straight since a fruitless road trip from Jan. 11-16.
Winnipeg at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The race for the Calder Trophy sits squarely in focus Tuesday as a pair of game-changing rookies meet when Patrik Laine and the Winnipeg Jets visit Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 18-year-old Laine - named the NHL’s First Star of the Week on Monday – and the 19-year-old Matthews combined for 56 goals and 45 assists this season.
NY Islanders at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The New York Islanders haven't fared well away from the Barclays Center this season, but they better get used to life on the road Tuesday when they open a franchise-high nine-game trek against the Detroit Red Wings. The Islanders, who have dropped four of their last five away from home and own a disastrous 7-13-4 mark outside of Brooklyn, will hit the road over a 19-day stretch due to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball tournament at B
Edmonton at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers go after their fourth consecutive victory when they continue a six-game road trip against the surging Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night. The Oilers opened their trek with a 3-1 victory at Chicago on Saturday despite being outshot 39-22 as goaltender Cam Talbot earned his 30th victory of the season.
Calgary at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The two teams holding down the seventh and eighth playoff slots in the Western Conference will square off Tuesday night when the Nashville Predators host the Calgary Flames. The Predators are looking to post back-to-back victories for the first time since a three-game winning streak from Jan. 19-22 that started with a 4-3 overtime win at Calgary.
Chicago at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild look to bolster their lead in the Central Division on Tuesday as they host the second-place Chicago Blackhawks in their final contest before their league-mandated bye week. The Wild have posted an impressive 15-4-1 mark in their last 20 games overall to build a seven-point lead in the division, and enter Tuesday's tilt with an 8-0-1 record in their last nine regular-season encounters with the Blackhawks.
Los Angeles at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings have struggled to find their offense all season, but they'll likely receive little sympathy from their next opponent in that regard. After being shut out for the third time in six games and eighth time this season, Los Angeles looks to get back into the postseason picture at the expense of the ailing Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday when the clubs meet at the Pepsi Center.
