Preview Roundups
January 13, 2019
Nashville at Carolina 12:30 PM ET
The Nashville Predators endured a dreadful stretch of 10 consecutive losses away from home but have turned things around as they prepare to make the final stop of a six-game road trip at the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon. Nashville has earned points in all five games on the trek, sandwiching 4-3 overtime losses at Detroit and Columbus around three straight wins.
Anaheim at Winnipeg 6:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks saw their run of five consecutive Pacific Division titles come to an end last season and could be staring at missing the playoffs for the first time since 2011-12 if they cannot reverse a horrific tailspin. The Ducks will try to halt a franchise-record 10-game slide (0-7-3) when they open a five-game road trip at the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night.
NY Rangers at Columbus 6:00 PM ET
A day after registering their first win of the month, the New York Rangers seek another when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. New York began January with five consecutive losses before edging the crosstown-rival Islanders 2-1 on the road in the back end of a home-and-home series on Saturday.
Florida at Vancouver 7:00 PM ET
There's a chance that Roberto Luongo could be making his final appearance in the city where he starred for nearly a decade when the Florida Panthers continue their five-game road trip with a visit to the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night. The 39-year-old Luongo played eight seasons with the Canucks before he was traded back to Florida during the 2013-14 season.
Tampa Bay at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning look to follow up another thrilling comeback victory with a better 60-minute effort when they visit the New York Islanders on Sunday. The Lightning scored three unanswered goals in the third period to rally past Buffalo 5-3 on Saturday as Nikita Kucherov, who leads the NHL with 75 points, recorded a goal and two assists.
Arizona at Calgary 9:30 PM ET
The Calgary Flames have been on a roll of late and hope to continue the surge when they host the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday. Calgary has won six of its last seven contests and each of its last four - including the first two of its five-game homestand.
