Preview Roundups

Savannah State at Michigan St 12:00 PM ET
No. 2 Michigan State takes on its final non-conference foe before resuming Big Ten Conference play when it hosts Savannah State on Sunday afternoon. The Spartans have won 12 straight, scoring at least 100 points in each of their last three wins, while the Tigers have dropped five in a row.
Tulsa at Tulane 2:00 PM ET

Tulane looks to stay perfect at home – and in American Athletic Conference play – when it hosts Tulsa on Sunday. Both teams are looking to improve to 2-0 in the conference as they aim to surpass tepid expectations entering the season.

Providence at Creighton 2:30 PM ET
An inability to seal the deal late against ranked opponents has perhaps been Creighton's biggest frustration this season, but it has encountered no such problems at home. The 23rd-ranked Bluejays attempt to improve to 9-0 in Omaha in 2017-18 on Sunday when they host Providence in an early Big East tilt.
Memphis at Cincinnati 4:00 PM ET

Mick Cronin knows that point guard Jarron Cumberland will play a key role should No. 22 Cincinnati fulfill American Athletic Conference coaches’ expectations that the Bearcats will finish first in conference play. That journey begins Sunday when a revamped Memphis team visits Cincinnati at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights, Ky., which is the Bearcats’ home while their on-campus facility is being renovated this season.

Central Florida at East Carolina 4:00 PM ET
Two teams looking to avoid consecutive losses to start American Athletic Conference play clash on New Year's Eve as Central Florida visits East Carolina on Sunday. Both teams struggled offensively in their conference openers.
St. John's at Seton Hall 5:00 PM ET
Already undermanned, St. John's could find itself without the services of its best player Sunday when it suits up against No. 24 Seton Hall in a Big East game. Shamorie Ponds injured his right knee in Thursday's loss to Providence and his status is uncertain for the game with the Pirates.
Virginia Tech at Syracuse 6:00 PM ET
Only three ACC teams have yet to begin league play, but two of those will square off Sunday when Syracuse hosts Virginia Tech in a New Year's Eve clash. The Orange and Virginia Tech each went 11-2 during the non-conference season, and Syracuse's 2-3 zone will be tested by the Hokies' offensive standouts.
South Carolina at Mississippi 6:00 PM ET

After up-and-down showings during the non-conference portion of the schedule, it’s anyone’s guess how South Carolina and Ole Miss will fare in the SEC. The teams might provide a bit of clarity Sunday, when the Rebels host the Gamecocks to open conference play.

Georgia at Kentucky 6:00 PM ET
Kentucky comes into its SEC opener at home Sunday against Georgia following arguably its most impressive performance of the season, a 90-61 rout of in-state rival Louisville on Friday that drew praise from head coach John Calipari. The No. 15 Wildcats looked sluggish in their loss to UCLA last week, but Calipari lauded his team’s effort from start to finish as freshman Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with a career-best 24 points.
Utah at Oregon St. 6:00 PM ET

Utah and Oregon State used heavy doses of defense to win their Friday Pac-12 openers. Now they’ll meet Sunday in Corvallis, Ore., with a 2-0 conference start on the line.

South Florida at Southern Methodist 8:00 PM ET
SMU will try to extend two long win streaks when the Mustangs host South Florida on Sunday. The defending American Athletic Conference champs have won 32 straight at home and 17 straight against AAC opponents.
Washington at UCLA 8:00 PM ET
Washington won a total of two games in Pac-12 Conference play in 2016-17. But the Huskies, who opened league play with an impressive 88-81 victory at USC, can match that total the first weekend of this season when they play at UCLA on Sunday night.
Washington St. at Southern California 9:00 PM ET
USC, picked to finish second in the Pac-12 Conference preseason poll, will try to avoid getting swept at home in the opening series of league play when its hosts Washington State on Sunday night. The Trojans, who return all five starters from a squad that advanced to the Round of 32 in last spring's NCAA Tournament, were upset by Washington 88-81 in their Pac-12 opener Friday night.
Colorado at Oregon 10:00 PM ET

For the first time in four seasons, Oregon has lost more than once on its homecourt. And following Friday’s disappointing 66-56 loss to Utah, the Ducks are focused on bouncing back Sunday night against visiting Colorado.
