Preview Roundups
October 28, 2017
Cleveland at New Orleans 7:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers added several new faces in the offseason and are having a little trouble getting on the same page early in 2017-18. The Cavaliers will try to bounce back from a loss to the Brooklyn Nets when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
Boston at Miami 8:00 PM ET
The first few days of the regular season were painful - literally and figuratively - for the Boston Celtics, but their turnaround has been impressive. The Celtics look to make it four wins in a row when they cap a quick two-game road trip at the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Oklahoma City at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder integrated two star attractions into their lineup and the team's power-charged trio is still learning how to play together entering Saturday's road game against the Chicago Bulls. Oklahoma City will be trying to get back to .500 as reigning MVP Russell Westbrook, and forwards Carmelo Anthony and Paul George further their knowledge of where on the floor each other likes to operate.
Houston at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies are the only team to defeat the Houston Rockets this season and look to duplicate the feat when the teams meet Saturday. The Grizzlies posted a 98-90 road victory in Houston on Monday and now get the Rockets on their home floor in the second contest of a four-game homestand.
Philadelphia at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are a team with a lot of promise but are still figuring out how to put all the pieces together and close games in crunch time. The 76ers will try to bounce back from a tough loss and execute better down the stretch when they visit the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
L.A. Lakers at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz experienced offensive issues during a two-game road swing and look for improvement Saturday when they face the Los Angeles Lakers in the opener of a four-game homestand. Utah averaged only 86 points in losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns and was especially inept while committing 24 turnovers in Wednesday's 97-88 setback to the Suns.
Phoenix at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Phoenix Suns look to make it three straight wins under interim coach Jay Triano when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. Triano took over an 0-3 team that was outscored by an average of 30.7 points under former head coach Earl Watson, and it has responded with back-to-back wins over Sacramento and Utah.
Detroit at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
Consistency is the biggest issue for the Detroit Pistons, who will try to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. The Pistons traded wins and losses in each of their first five games and are coming off perhaps their best performance of the season -- a 122-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
