Preview Roundups
February 26, 2017
San Antonio at L.A. Lakers 3:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs wrap up a run of eight straight road games that spanned the All-Star break when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon. The Spurs opened the long stretch away from home with an ugly loss at Memphis on Feb. 6, but they have won five of the last six and three straight, including Friday's 105-97 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
Phoenix at Milwaukee 3:30 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks look to get more players involved offensively and shake off a disappointing performance when they host the struggling Phoenix Suns on Sunday afternoon. All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and forward Michael Beasley combined for 55 points in Milwaukee’s 109-95 loss to Utah on Friday in its first contest since Feb. 15 to end a three-game winning streak.
Memphis at Denver 5:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies came out of the All-Star break in less-than-inspiring fashion and hope to more resemble the playoff team that they are when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Memphis, which sits sixth in the Western Conference 8 1/2 games clear of ninth-place Sacramento entering Saturday, lost at Indiana 102-92 on Friday in its first contest since a 95-91 setback to New Orleans on Feb. 15 sent it into the break.
Utah at Washington 5:00 PM ET
Following a loss on the road against a sub-.500 team, the Washington Wizards return home to begin a challenging stretch beginning Sunday against the Utah Jazz. The contest marks the first half of a two-game homestand that also includes the Golden State Warriors, after which the Wizards play a home-and-home set against the Toronto Raptors.
Portland at Toronto 6:00 PM ET
Two of the NBA’s top scoring guards attempt to follow up outstanding post-All Star break performances when the Toronto Raptors host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. Portland’s Damian Lillard poured in 33 points in the 112-103 victory at Orlando and DeMar DeRozan scored a career-high 43 in Toronto’s 107-97 triumph against Boston with backcourt mate Kyle Lowry (wrist) out.
Boston at Detroit 6:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics will try to stop a rare losing streak when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. Following a controversial loss at Chicago before the All-Star break, the Celtics let a 17-point lead slip away in a 107-97 setback at Toronto on Friday.
New Orleans at Oklahoma City 7:00 PM ET
Russell Westbrook looks to post his third triple-double in the season series when his Oklahoma City Thunder host the revamped New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Westbrook is averaging 32.3 points, 13 rebounds and 9.7 assists in three victories over the Pelicans this season, and the Thunder go for the sweep against a new-look lineup that includes All-Star DeMarcus Cousins.
Charlotte at L.A. Clippers 9:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers went into the All-Star break on a roll, but a challenging schedule has caused them to sputter following the intermission. The Clippers will try to snap a two-game slide when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday in the second of three straight at home.
