Preview Roundups
February 15, 2017
San Antonio at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs clinched an NBA-record 20th consecutive winning season with their 42nd victory on Monday and will try to keep the momentum going into the All-Star break when they visit the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. The Spurs are 3-2 on their eight-game road trip, which continues after the break, and bounced back from a loss at New York with Monday's triumph at Indiana.
Indiana at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers survived the first of several games without starting forward Kevin Love and look to carry a winning streak into the All-Star break when they host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Love is set to miss at least six weeks following knee surgery, and his teammates pressed on without him in Tuesday's 116-108 victory at Minnesota.
Philadelphia at Boston 7:30 PM ET
Following a successful road trip, the Boston Celtics will put a pair of winning streaks on the line when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. The Celtics, who have won three straight overall and nine in a row over the 76ers, capped a 3-1 road trip with a 111-98 win at Dallas on Monday.
Charlotte at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors haven't looked like a team that can return to the Eastern Conference finals lately, so a move was made that may allow the squad to get back on track. Toronto acquired veteran forward Serge Ibaka from Orlando, but it isn't yet known whether or not he will be available for Wednesday's game against the visiting Charlotte Hornets.
Milwaukee at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks are beginning to turn the corner and have a great chance to push their winning streak to three straight going into the All-Star break when they visit the NBA-worst Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. The Bucks dropped 12 of 14 before knocking off division foes Indiana and Detroit by an average of 14.5 points in the last two contests.
Dallas at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Sustained success is a problem for the Detroit Pistons, who followed up an invigorating win with a big letdown to close out a two-game trip on Monday. The Pistons will try to go into the All-Star break feeling positive about themselves when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
New Orleans at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies have maintained their recent dominance of the New Orleans Pelicans this season, but it hasn't come without drama. The Grizzlies seek their eighth straight win over the visiting Pelicans when the teams continue a tight season series Wednesday in the final game for both before the All-Star break.
Miami at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Miami Heat stunned the NBA with a 13-game winning streak that brought them back into contention for a top eight spot in the Eastern Conference, but the hole they started in was big enough that they need to avoid a lengthy slide. The Heat will try to avoid going into the All-Star break with three straight losses when they visit the surging Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
Minnesota at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets will try to build on their best win of the season when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in the final game before the All-Star break for both teams. Behind the second career triple-double for forward Nikola Jokic and an NBA record-tying 24 3-pointers, the Nuggets throttled mighty Golden State 132-110 on Monday.
Portland at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers have thrived against Utah in recent seasons and aim to notch their 11th win in the past 14 meetings when they visit the Jazz on Wednesday. Portland won the past three matchups and included in the recent 13-contest stretch is a five-game winning streak from Dec. 6, 2013 to Feb. 3, 2015 that rates as the franchise's best against Utah.
L.A. Lakers at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
Winning in Phoenix has been tough for the Los Angeles Lakers and they will attempt to end a 10-game losing streak in the desert metropolis when they visit the Suns on Wednesday. Phoenix's streak of success matches its longest home winning streak against the Lakers, equaling a stretch from Nov. 22, 1977 to March 18, 1981.
New York at Oklahoma City 9:30 PM ET
Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder look to bounce back from a porous performance when they host the New York Knicks on Wednesday. Westbrook tallied just 17 points in Monday's 120-98 loss to the Washington Wizards - a contest in which Oklahoma City missed a dubious NBA-record 24 consecutive shots at one point.
Atlanta at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
Two of the better post players in the NBA look to continue lifting their team’s playoff hopes heading into the All-Star break on Wednesday when DeAndre Jordan and the Los Angeles Clippers host Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks. The Clippers have won three in a row while the Hawks have won four of their past six and both teams entered Tuesday occupying fourth place in their respective conferences.
Sacramento at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors had a 13-game winning streak against Sacramento halted earlier this month and attempt to start a new one when they host the Kings on Wednesday. Golden State also will be seeking to bounce back from the 132-110 shellacking it took from the Denver Nuggets on Monday when the team suffered its ninth loss, equaling the total of all last season.
