Kings 5, Senators 2: Anze Kopitar scored a pair of goals and Martin Jones made 37 saves to remain perfect in five career starts as visiting Los Angeles rolled to its sixth consecutive victory.

Jeff Carter and Dwight King each had a goal and two assists and Jarret Stoll also scored for the Kings, who have not allowed more than two tallies in 18 straight games (13-1-4). Jones won his fifth consecutive start to begin his career, allowing five goals in that stretch.

Defensemen Joe Corvo and Erik Karlsson scored goals for Ottawa, which trailed by two goals before the game was 4 1/2 minutes old. Craig Anderson was pulled after allowing two goals on four shots and Robin Lehner stopped 19-of-22 in relief.

Los Angeles set the tone at the outset when King's wrister from the edge of the right circle got past Anderson on the short side only 21 seconds into the contest. Carter doubled the lead with an unassisted tally less than four minutes later, sneaking a shot past Anderson from the left faceoff dot to end the veteran netminder's afternoon.

Kopitar shoveled a rebound past Lehner for a 3-0 edge with 7:04 left in the opening period before Corvo got Ottawa got on the board, knocking home Cory Conacher's kick pass from the left of the net with 6:09 left in the middle session. Karlsson connected from the point 4:24 into the third to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Stoll converted an easy rebound after Lehner denied defenseman Drew Doughty's end-to-end rush with 6:42 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: King ended a 10-game goalless drought for Los Angeles, which has not allowed a first-period goal in 18 games - the longest streak since the league started tracking the stat in 1989-90. ... Anderson's cameo appearance marked the fourth time in his career that he was yanked from a game in the first five minutes. ... Kopitar has four goals in the last three games to give him 11 on the season, surpassing his total of 10 in 47 games last season.
