PANTHERS 4, DEVILS 3: Sean Bergenheim and Brian Campbell had a goal and an assist apiece to lift Florida to a stunning comeback against host New Jersey and 2-1 a series lead in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal.

The Panthers thrived on special teams, converting on all three of their power play chances to erase an early three-goal deficit in a game that featured two goalie switches.

The Devils jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the opening 6:16 courtesy of goals from Zach Parise, Stephen Gionta and Patrik Elias. Panthers coach Kevin Dineen promptly gave Jose Theodore the hook in favor of Scott Clemmensen after Theodore allowed three goals on six shots.

Florida responded with four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead in the second period.

Devils bench boss Peter DeBoer pulled veteran netminder Martin Brodeur after Mike Weaver scored with the man advantage to knot the game at 3-3 early in the second frame.

Campbell netted the Panthers’ third power play tally of the game when he fired a point shot past a screened Johan Hedberg, who came on in relief of Brodeur, to give Florida the 4-3 lead.

Bergenheim and Jason Garrison also scored on the power play for the Panthers.

Clemmensen stopped all 19 shots he faced to earn his first career playoff victory.
