Texas 77, DePaul 59: Cameron Ridley bullied his way to a career-high 19 points and nine rebounds as the Longhorns defeated the Blue Demons in the consolation game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Isiah Taylor was 8-for-10 at the free-throw line and racked up 14 points, while Jonathan Holmes, Demarcus Holland and Kendal Yancy each added 10 points for Texas (5-1). The Longhorns crushed the Blue Demons on the boards 40-20.

Cleveland Melvin scored 15 to lead DePaul (3-3), which was blown out for the second straight night in Kansas City. Freshman Tommy Hamilton IV narrowly missed his first career double-double, tallying nine points and eight rebounds.

The game was close for the first 11 minutes, but the Longhorns surged ahead late in the first half with a 15-0 run as the Blue Demons went scoreless for a stretch of over six minutes. It was the second consecutive night that DePaul went silent in the latter portion of the first half, getting outscored 30-13 to end the half in the semifinals against Wichita State.

The Blue Demons never got within 15 of the second half, and shot just 5-for-17 from 3-point range. The Longhorns were excellent from the free-throw line, knocking down 23-of-28.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The two teams last faced off 13 years ago to the day in Puerto Rico, with Texas winning 68-64. … The Longhorns have outrebounded all six of their opponents this season. … Each team committed 15 turnovers.
