Clemson 59, Marist 44: Devin Booker recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds as the Tigers pulled away in the second half of the fifth-place game at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

After Marist scored the first seven points of the second half to take a six-point lead, Booker’s basket started a 28-6 run that put the Tigers control. Booker, who registered his first double-double of the season, had nine of his points during the surge that gave Clemson (4-1) a commanding 50-34 lead.

Freshman guard Adonis Filer added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers, who dominated on the backboards and held Marist (2-4) to 34 percent shooting.

Devin Price led the way with 15 points for the Red Foxes, who made just 6-of-23 from 3-point range.

Clemson led by as many as 11 in the first half before Marist built a 15-5 run to pull within 22-21 at halftime. The Red Foxes were 2-of-17 from the field early on and finished the half by making six of their last 10. Clemson’s K.J. McDaniels led all scorers with eight points in the opening 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After making 12 from 3-point range in its last game, Clemson was just 2-of-9 from beyond the arc against the Red Foxes. … Marist is 1-10 against current ACC schools after its first meeting with Clemson. The Red Foxes beat Miami in 1988. … Marist does not play again until Dec. 4 at Army. Clemson hosts Purdue on Wednesday.
