No. 2 Miami 54, Virginia 50: Reggie Johnson scored the tiebreaking basket with 5.7 seconds left and Durand Scott added two free throws as the host Hurricanes remained perfect in Atlantic Coast Conference play by upending the Cavaliers.

Shane Larkin scored four of his 11 points in the final minute and delivered the pass to a wide-open Johnson for one of his six assists as Miami (22-3, 13-0 ACC) stretched its winning streak to 14. Rion Brown added 10 points.

Joe Harris scored 16 points for Virginia (18-8, 8-5), which tied the contest at 50 when Evan Nolte connected on a 3-pointer with 14.3 seconds left.

The Cavaliers never led until a free throw by Nolte gave Virginia a 29-28 lead with 13:06 remaining. The Hurricanes answered with eight straight points as Brown began the spurt with three free throws and closed it with a 3-pointer to give Miami a seven-point lead with 11:11 to play.

Virginia caught the Hurricanes at 46 when Harris knocked down a game-tying 3-pointer with 58 seconds remaining. Larkin hit a layup with 42.2 seconds left and drained two free throws with 28.4 seconds left to give Miami a three-point lead.
