Tony Snell scored 22 points and Hugh Greenwood added 15 as the visiting Lobos snapped the Broncos’ seven-game winning streak

Greenwood’s layup tied the game at 63 with 55 seconds left in regulation, and the teams headed to overtime after Derrick Marks missed a jumper on the Broncos’ next possession.

New Mexico (16-2, 3-0 Mountain West) never trailed in the extra period, and Greenwood’s 3-pointer put the Lobos ahead 74-69 with 28 seconds left. Mikey Thompson hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 77-74 with four seconds left, but Kendall Williams made two free throws to secure the victory.

Marks scored 27 points and Ryan Watkins had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Boise State (13-3, 1-1), which lost despite outrebounding the Lobos 38-33.

New Mexico, which closed the first half on a 14-5 run to tie the game at 37, shot 24-of-31 (77.4 percent) from the foul line. Boise State was 15-for-21 (71.4 percent) from the line.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lobos C Alex Kirk, the reigning Mountain West co-player of the week, had 10 points and seven rebounds before fouling out with 2:09 to play in overtime. …The Broncos played without C Kenny Buckner, who was serving the second game of a three-game suspension for violating team rules. … Williams, who was suspended for the Lobos’ win over Fresno State on Saturday, had 11 points and six assists.
