Scott Martin went 6-for-7 from 3-point range to finish with 22 points and Jack Cooley picked up another double-double as the Fighting Irish rolled over the visiting Pirates.

Cooley collected 19 points and 13 rebounds and Eric Atkins added 17 points and 10 assists for Notre Dame (13-1, 1-0 Big East), which went 12-for-18 from beyond the arc and shot 56.5 percent from the field to extend its winning streak to 11 games.

Seton Hall (12-3, 1-1), which came into the contest right behind the Irish among Big East teams in 3-point shooting, struggled to 11-for-31 from beyond the arc. Fuquan Edwin scored 21 points and Aaron Cosby added 21 and seven assists.

Notre Dame took a 44-36 lead into the half and quickly began stretching it out after the break. Martin hit four 3-pointers during a 21-7 run to begin the period, with his last extending the advantage to 66-43 with 14:39 left.

The Pirates chopped the lead down to 15 less than two minutes later but could not draw any closer.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Cooley has recorded three straight double-doubles and 10 overall in 14 games this season. … Martin finished one point shy of matching his career high, which was set last season in a win over Delaware State. … The schools combined for only three free-throw attempts in the first half before slowing the pace with a total of 20 attempts after the break.
