Wisconsin 86, Nebraska Omaha 40: Ben Brust and Ryan Evans registered double-doubles as the Badgers opened up the contest in the first half and cruised past the visiting Mavericks.

Brust had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Evans chipped in with 10 points and 11 boards for Wisconsin (6-3), which has won three of its last four games. Jared Berggren contributed 13 points, Frank Kaminsky added a career-high 11 and Sam Dekker had 10 for the Badgers.

The Mavericks (2-8) held an early 5-2 lead before Wisconsin scored the next 12 points to seize control. The Badgers made five 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes - including three by Brust - and recorded 22 points in the paint to pull away for 42-13 halftime advantage.

Justin Simmons scored 12 points to lead Nebraska Omaha, which has lost eight of its last nine games. The Mavericks went 5-for-23 from the field and had one assist in the first half.

Brust earned his fourth double-double of the season and Evans his second for Wisconsin. Brust is also 10-for-23 from 3-point range in the last three games, averaging 17.3 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Thirteen players scored for Wisconsin, which shot 48.6 percent from the field and turned the ball over just nine times. … Nebraska Omaha has two games left on a 10-game road trip. The Mavericks visit Iowa State on Sunday. … Wisconsin won the only other meeting with Nebraska Omaha during the 1986-87 season. The Badgers posted an 86-47 triumph.
