Mississippi 80, Rutgers 67: Murphy Holloway had 17 points and 15 rebounds and the host Rebels went on a late 18-5 run to put away the Scarlet Knights in the SEC/Big East Challenge.

Holloway, the reigning SEC Player of the Week, was among five players in double figures for the Rebels (6-0), who faced their first big-time competition this season. Junior college transfer Marshall Henderson scored 18 points and Reginald Buckner added 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Rutgers (4-2) saw its four-game win streak snapped despite 15 points, six rebounds and four assists from Myles Mack.

Eli Carter, who came in ranked eighth in the Big East at 18 points per game, struggled to 10 points on 1-of-12 shooting. He missed all six of his 3-point tries.

Rutgers led 36-31 at the half after holding the Rebels to 35 percent shooting (12 of 34). This was the teams' first-ever meeting.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
