Purdue 66, North Carolina-Wilmington 40: Junior guard Terone Johnson had a game-high 19 points as the host Boilermakers snapped a two-game losing streak.

Johnson went 6-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the beyond the arc, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Purdue (2-3) a 29-28 halftime lead.

Senior forward Keith Rendleman led the Seahawks (1-3) with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Two long scoring droughts defined the game. Purdue didn't score during the final 4:49 of the first half until Johnson's 3-pointer but the Boilermakers built a 47-31 second-half lead as UNCW went 10:26 without a field goal.

The Boilermakers finished the game on a 17-3 run, with A.J. Hammons and Rapheal Davis combining for 13 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: D.J. Byrd and Travis Carroll each added 10 for Purdue. ... UNCW has lost nine straight road games dating back to last year. ... The Seahawks had 18 turnovers against Purdue after averaging 21.7 in their first three games.
