TEXAS 70, TEXAS A&M 68:
J’Covan Brown scored 20 points, including the go-ahead layup in the final minute, and Texas narrowly escaped with a victory at Texas A&M.

In what looks to be the final regular-season matchup between these two hated rivals for the foreseeable future, Brown — the Big 12’s leading scorer — made the big plays down the stretch to give the Longhorns (15-9, 5-6 Big 12) a season sweep.

After the Aggies (12-11, 3-8 Big 12) stormed back from four down in the last two minutes to take a 67-66 lead on two Elston Turner free throws with 1:09 remaining, Brown drove into the lane for a left-handed runner to regain the lead.

On Texas A&M’s ensuing possession, Texas freshman Myck Kabongo stole the ball and immediately found Brown, who hit two free throws to make it 70-67.

Rather than let the Aggies hoist up a potential game-tying 3-pointer, Kabongo fouled Turner with 3.9 seconds left. Turner hit the first free throw and then intentionally missed the second, but the Longhorns snared the rebound and ran out the clock.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas has won five straight in this series and leads 137-85 all-time … Turner had 20 points 3-of-5 3-point shooting to lead the Aggies… Texas A&M shot 50 percent in the first half and led 34-33 at the break.
