GEORGETOWN 52, RUTGERS 50: Otto Porter hit two free throws with 8.5 seconds left and scored the final six points as No. 12 Georgetown overcame a terrible shooting effort to down visiting Rutgers.

Henry Sims collected 12 points and 12 rebounds and Jason Clark scored 11 for the Hoyas (16-3, 6-2 Big East), who scored 25 of their points from the free throw line.

Georgetown shot just 12.5 percent (3 for 24) in the first half and 29 percent in the game but scored the final seven points after the Scarlet Knights (11-9, 3-4) had taken a 50-45 lead. Sims split a pair of free throws and Porter made the shots when it counted, scoring on consecutive possessions to knot it at 50-50.

Mike Poole fouled Porter away from the ball with time running out, and the freshman big man clinched the win.

TIP-INS: Eli Carter scored 14 points for Rutgers, which narrowly missed knocking off its third top-15 opponent ... The Scarlet Knights committed 29 personal fouls ... Georgetown travels to Pittsburgh next weekend and then faces the toughest part of its schedule, with No. 11 Connecticut and No. 1 Syracuse in two of the following three games.
