John Jenkins scored 20 points to spark Vanderbilt to its eighth consecutive victory, a 69-59 decision on the road against Alabama.

Jenkins made 5-of-11 shots from the field, including four 3-pointers, and topped the 20-point mark for the first time since Jan. 2 against Miami. The junior has scored in double-figures in 48 straight games.

The Commodores (14-4, 4-0 SEC) also got 17 points from Jeffery Taylor and 11 points apiece from Lance Goulbourne and Festus Ezeli. Vanderbilt is off to its best start in league play since it began 5-0 in the 2009-10 season.

Alabama (13-5, 2-2), which lost its second straight game, got behind early and trailed 26-19 at the half. The Crimson Tide was led by guard Trevor Releford with 14 points, 11 points from Levi Randolph and 10 points from Trevor Lacey.

It was the most points allowed by Alabama since it gave up 71 against Kansas State.
