JayVaughn Pinkston posted 23 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double, and host Villanova won its 10th consecutive game over Seton Hall with an 84-76 victory Wednesday.

Maalik Wayns added a game-high 25 points and James Bell had 18 for the Wildcats (9-10, 2-5 Big East).

The freshman Pinkston, a former McDonald's All-American who was suspended last season because of disciplinary issues, and Wayns did much of their damage at the foul line, hitting a combined 28-of-33.

Villanova, the top foul shooting team in the Big East, held a 34-12 scoring margin at the line and missed only seven attempts.

Fuquan Edwin scored 12 of his team-high 14 points in the second half for Seton Hall (15-4, 4-3), which lost its second straight.

The Wildcats used an 11-0 run to take a 19-9 lead and maintained the cushion for the rest of the half en route to a 37-28 advantage at the break.

Brandon Mobley posted 12 first-half points, going 3-for-3 from beyond the arc while the rest of the Pirates shot 0-for-14. But the freshman reserve, who averaged only 3.4 points entering the game, went scoreless in the second half.

Wayns was coming off a 39-point eruption in an 82-78 loss at Cincinnati last time out.
