Arnett Moultrie scored 25 points and Dee Bost hit three 3-pointers in the final five minutes, leading No. 20 Mississippi State past Alabama 56-52 in Starkville, Miss.

The Bulldogs (15-3, 2-1 SEC) trailed 46-42 when Bost hit Mississippi State’s first 3-pointer of the game with 4:29 to go. Alabama carried a 48-45 lead into the final three minutes, but Bost’s 3-pointer with 2:36 remaining tied the game at 48-48.

On the next possession, Bost hit his third 3-pointer, giving the Bulldogs a 51-48 advantage with 1:42 left. Trevor Lacey’s layup pulled Alabama (13-4, 2-1) within 53-52 with five seconds left, but Brian Bryant’s three-point play with three seconds to go sealed the victory.

Mississippi State led by as many as 12 points in the game’s opening minutes. The Bulldogs held a 27-21 lead at halftime, and moved ahead 40-31 on Moultrie’s layup with 13:52 remaining.

The Crimson Tide went on a 15-2 run in the next eight minutes, JaMychael Green’s dunk giving Alabama a 46-42 advantage with 5:47 to go.

Moultrie finished 10-for-14 from the field and pulled down 13 rebounds. Bost finished with 17 points.

Green led Alabama with 14 points. Tony Mitchell added eight points and 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs play at in-state rival Mississippi on Wednesday. Alabama hosts Vanderbilt on Thursday.
