Trevor Lacey scored 19 points and Tony Mitchell added 17 as Alabama rolled to its fourth consecutive victory, 74-59 over Georgia on Saturday in the SEC opener for both schools.

Georgia (9-6) trailed by nine midway through the second, but scored five quick points, the last coming on a dunk by Donte Williams, to get to within 52-48.

Alabama (12-3) quickly took back control of the game, getting five points from Andrew Steele and a dunk from JaMychal Green to go up 59-50 and force a time out by Georgia coach Mark Fox. The Crimson Tide then went on a 14-2 run capped by Mitchell's three-point play with five minutes left in the game. Mitchell’s dunk gave Alabama its largest lead at 72-55.

Lacey had a huge first half, helping the Tide go into the locker room with a 12-point lead. The freshman guard had 17 points and knocked down all three of his 3-point attempts, while Mitchell added a pair of 3s, including a long ball with 26 seconds left that gave Alabama its largest lead of the half at 38-23.

Georgia freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who led all scorers with 22 points, tried to keep the Bulldogs in it, scoring seven of his 11 first-half points during a late stretch.

Dustin Ware hit a 3 with one second left to cut the halftime deficit to 38-26.
