South Florida's reserves accounted for 48 points, including 20 by Jawanza Poland to match his career best, as the Bulls thumped host Villanova 74-57 on Thursday.

Blake Nash added 12 points and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 10 for South Florida (9-7, 2-1 Big East), which also sank 20 of its 22 foul shots.

Villanova coach Jay Wright shook up his starting lineup by sitting guards Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek, who shot a combined 6-for-23 in the Wildcats loss at Marquette on Jan. 1.

The move seemed to work as Villanova (7-8, 0-3) bolted to a 12-4 lead after Wayns entered and buried his first 3-point attempt. It was his only field goal of the half, however, and South Florida took a 27-25 edge at the break.

The Bulls extended the margin to 40-29 on a four-point play by Shaun Noriega with 15:55 remaining. A 3-pointer by Fitzpatrick made it 48-36 before the Wildcats responded with a 9-0 run.

That was as close as the hosts got, though, as the Bulls pulled away for their second straight win over Villanova. South Florida knocked the Wildcats out of the Big East Tournament in March after going 3-15 in league play.

Wayns finished with a team-high 17 points for Villanova, which again struggled from 3-point range. The Wildcats went 4-for-20, following a 3-for-17 effort against Marquette.
