Dorenzo Hudson had 11 of his team-high 18 points in the second half as Virginia Tech held off Oklahoma State 67-61 Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Hokies (11-3) snapped the Cowboys’ 37-game home win streak against non-conference opponents and also earned a sweep in the season series. Virginia Tech won the previous meeting 59-57 on Nov. 25 in the NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden.

Oklahoma State (7-6), behind Keiton Page’s game-high 21 points, pulled even at 61 with 2:01 left after trailing by 10 just three minutes earlier.

But the Hokies made six straight free throws down the stretch as the Cowboys misfired on their next three shot attempts — all from 3-point range.

Erick Green finished with 16 points, and Dorian Finney-Smith added a game-high 10 rebounds for the Hokies, who won their sixth straight. Virginia Tech led 28-23 at halftime.

Oklahoma State, which has lost four of five after a 6-2 start, will open Big 12 play Wednesday at home against Texas Tech. Virginia Tech, meanwhile, will begin conference play at Wake Forest on Jan. 7.

The Cowboys led 44-37 with 13:01 left, but the Hokies responded with a 24-7 run over the next eight minutes to regain the lead at 61-51.

Brian Williams finished with 14 points for the Cowboys, who were outrebounded 43-24.
