Fuquan Edwin had 19 points and Jordan Theodore added 18 as Seton Hall took a big lead and held off a second-half rally by visiting West Virginia for a 67-48 victory on Friday.

Theodore added eight assists and Edwin had four steals as the Pirates (12-2, 1-1 Big East) beat West Virginia for the first time since Feb. 14, 2006, snapping a seven-game losing streak against the Mountaineers.

Seton Hall center Herb Pope chipped in 13 points as the Pirates improved to 8-0 at home, rebounding from a 26-point loss at No. 1 Syracuse Wednesday.

Kevin Jones recorded15 points and 10 rebounds to lead West Virginia (10-4, 1-1), which was within 54-48 with 6:52 left before going scoreless the rest of the game.

Seton Hall used an 11-0 run – seven by Pope – in the first half to take control and sped away for a 38-22 halftime lead. Edwin had 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in the first half for the Pirates, who shot 50 percent from the field (16-of-32).

West Virginia shot 25.9 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes and committed 11 turnovers. Darryl Bryant, who scored a career-high 34 points against Villanova Wednesday, was 1-for-7 from the field for six points.
