Pierre Jackson scored a career-high 23 points off the bench to help No. 7 Baylor fend off West Virginia in overtime 83-81 on Friday in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.

Jackson hit four 3-pointers, one of which got the scoring started in overtime, when the Bears (12-0) took an 83-78 lead with about two minutes left. Baylor led 83-81 in the final seconds, but West Virginia came up short when Jabarie Hinds sped down the court and hoisted up an air ball as time expired.

Brady Heslip added 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Bears, who tied a school record for longest winning streak to start a season and remained one of six undefeated Division I teams in the country.

Kevin Jones had 28 points and 17 rebounds for West Virginia (9-3), which had its five-game winning streak snapped and went to overtime for the third time in its last six games.

It was the eighth double-double of the season for Jones, who came into the game averaging 20.4 points and 11.5 rebounds.

Baylor led 40-33 at halftime and stretched it to 52-42 on Quincy Acy's dunk four minutes into the second half, but West Virginia didn’t go away quietly.

The Mountaineers stormed back and led 76-73 in the final seconds, but Jackson came off a screen for a left-wing 3-pointer to tie the game, and the teams traded misses to force overtime.

Hinds finished with 18 points and seven assists, and Darryl Bryant added 16 points for West Virginia.
