Cody Zeller scored 21 points and No. 20 Indiana used a strong defensive effort to topple Notre Dame, 69-58, at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis.

After falling into an early 15-6 hole, the Hoosiers (10-0) scored the next eight points to begin a 20-5 run that consumed the final 13minutes of the first half. Zeller led the Indiana surge, pouring in 14 points before the intermission.

The Fighting Irish (7-5), who finished the game at 38 percent from the field (16-for-42), missed their final 13 shots of the first half while falling behind for good. Notre Dame could get no closer than six points in the second half.

Victor Oladipo added 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting for Indiana, which improved to 10-0 for the first time since the 1989-90 season. Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant led Notre Dame with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
