Four players scored in double figures and No. 15 Wisconsin used a smothering defensive effort to cruise past visiting Savannah State, 66-33, on Thursday.

The Badgers (10-2) took command early, scoring 11 unanswered points on their way to a 30-10 cushion with 4:05 left in the first half. Jared Berggren scored 11 of his 13 points before the intermission to lead the early blitz.

Owners of the nation's top-rated scoring defense, Wisconsin held the Tigers (4-8) to 31 percent shooting in the opening half and 33 percent (15-for-46) for the game. Savannah State was 0-for-3 from 3-point range and had just five assists against 15 turnovers.

Ryan Evans and Jordan Taylor finished with 12 points each for the Badgers, who shot 57 percent from the floor. Arnold Louis and Cedric Smith led Savannah State with eight points apiece.
