Terrell Stoglin poured in 31 points, leading Maryland to a 78-71 victory over Notre Dame at the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C.

After seeing their 11-point lead get trimmed to one, 57-56, with 7:27 remaining, the Terrapins (4-3) regained control with a 9-0 run capped by Stoglin's three-point play. The Fighting Irish (5-4) used a late flurry to get as close as 74-71 in the final minute, but Stoglin sealed it with a jumper at the shot clock buzzer.

Stoglin, the ACC's leading scorer, hit 11 of 20 shots from the field, including three of four 3-point attempts. Maryland was 7-for-10 as a team from beyond the arc.

Sean Mosley added 17 points in the win, while James Padgett had 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Terps finished with a 40-30 advantage on the glass, grabbing 17 offensive boards.

Jerian Grant scored 20 points to lead Notre Dame, which has lost four of its last five and is winless in four road games. Eric Atkins added 16 points for the Irish.
