Four other players scored at least eight points for the Red Raiders (4-3), who ended a three-game slide.

The Red Raiders jumped out to an early 18-7 advantage, but Terence Jones almost singlehandedly brought the Islanders (1-4) back. Jones scored 14 of his 17 first-half points over the final eight minutes to leave Texas A&M–CC with a one-point lead at the break.

The Islanders increased the lead to four on their first possession of the second half, but the Red Raiders went on a 14-5 run to take a 40-35 advantage.

Even though Texas Tech could not stretch the lead past seven points until the final seconds, Texas A&M–CC could get no closer than three the rest of the way.

Jones finished with a career-high 26 points for the Islanders, who shot just 31.6 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from the foul line.
