Minnesota, down by five just over five minutes into the second half, went on a 12-0 run and rolled to a 71-55 victory over South Dakota State.

The Golden Gophers (2-0) outscored the Jackrabbits 26-10 down the stretch.

Freshman guard Andre Ingram’s layup broke the 45-all tie and put the Golden Gophers ahead for good. Oto Osenieks followed with a 3-pointer. After two Trevor Mbakwe free throws, Joe Coleman was fouled by the Jackrabbits’ Brayden Carlson and converted a three-point play.

South Dakota State (1-1) was led by junior guard Nick Wolters, who had 20 points, including half of the Jackrabbits’ six 3-point field goals.

The Gophers spread their scoring around among 10 players, with Mbakwe hitting 5 of 6 shots for a team-high 15 points.
