Corey Fisher led the way with 18 points and Antonio Pena added 17 and eight rebounds, as No. 7 Villanova cruised to an 82-66 victory over Boston University Wednesday in the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off.

Maalik Wayns chipped in 12 points and 10 assists, and Corey Stokes scored 12 for Villanova, which shot 55 percent (32-of-58) despite knocking down only 1-of-12 from beyond the arc. The Wildcats will play UCLA in the semifinal round next week in Madison Square Garden.

The Wildcats (3-0) led 40-24 at the half, behind eight points from Pena and seven from Fisher. The defense stood out in the opening 20 minutes, as Villanova limited the Terriers to 30 percent (9-of-30) shooting.

Boston University (1-2) picked up its play in the second half, closing to within 57-45 after Matt Griffin drained a 3-pointer with 11:09 remaining. But the Wildcats bounced back with a 10-2 run to push the lead back to 20 points. Pena scored six points during the spurt, and Fisher capped it with a jumper.

John Holland finished with 15 points and Jake O’Brien added 13 for the Terriers.
