Reggie Johnson had 15 rebounds and 12 points as host Miami dealt Maryland a serious blow to its NCAA Tournament aspirations with an 80-66 victory Wednesday.

Malcolm Grant scored 16 points for Miami (18-12, 6-9), which shot 54.9 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from 3-point range.

Terrell Stoglin had a game-high 20 points for Maryland (17-12, 7-8), which fell to 0-5 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables.

The Hurricanes led by as many as 17 early in the second half, but endured a few anxious moments after the Terrapins trimmed the lead to 52-47 following a Stoglin layup with 13:30 remaining.

But that was as close as Maryland would come as the Terrapins were again victimized by their inability to defend the 3-point line.

Maryland's Jordan Williams, who averaged better than 17 points per game, finished with 11 on 3-of-17 shooting.
