Trey Thompkins had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Georgia never trailed en route to a 64-48 victory over visiting South Carolina on Saturday.

Travis Leslie scored 15 points and Jeremy Price added 14 for Georgia (19-9, 8-6 SEC), which opened the game with a 22-6 run and led 39-22 at halftime on 56 percent shooting from the field.

Malik Cooke scored 11 points for South Carolina (14-13, 5-9), which shot 28.3 percent from the field, including 1 of 19 from 3-point range.

Bruce Ellington scored seven points on 3-of-12 shooting for South Carolina, which has lost six of its last seven. The freshman point guard has struggled since suffering a left calf bruise in a four-point loss to Georgia on Feb. 12.

Georgia, which lost 71-62 at No. 13 Florida on Thursday, entered the game with an RPI of 37.
