Florida State built a 20-point halftime lead but had to hang on late to beat Miami 65-59 on Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Seminoles (20-8, 10-4 ACC) are now 3-1 since losing star forward and leading scorer Chris Singleton in mid-February to a broken foot and are in good shape to earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Miami (17-12, 5-9) rallied late to get within three on a Malcolm Grant 3-pointer with 57 seconds to play. But Florida State’s Okaro White hit a clutch jumper with 30 seconds left and Bernard Jones sealed the Seminoles’ eighth straight home win with a late free throw.

White and Deividas Dulkys each had 17 to lead Florida State.

Grant had 19 to lead the Hurricanes, who shot just 32 percent from the field.
