Chris Wright scored 20 points and No. 11 Georgetown rallied after trailing most of the game for its eighth straight win to knock off Marquette 69-60 on Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

Georgetown (20-5, 9-4 Big East) trailed by as many as nine in the first half and was down 35-31 at halftime.

The Hoyas appeared to be in trouble when leading scorer Austin Freeman left in the first half with an apparent ankle injury, but he returned early in the second half and his jumper with 12:01 left in the game gave Georgetown its first lead at 42-41.

Georgetown, which entered the game second in the nation in field goal percentage (50.3 percent), shot just 43.4 against Marquette (15-10, 6-6 Big East). But the Golden Eagles were stone cold in the second half, and at one stretch, converted just two field goals in a span of 13 minutes.

Wright was 5 of 9 from 3-point range to lead the Hoyas, and he also handed out five assists, while Freeman still finished with 17 points for the Hoyas, who made 16 of 18 free throws to hold off a late Marquette charge.

Darius Johnson-Odom led the Golden Eagles, who have now lost four of six, with 20 points.
