The Fighting Irish (16-4, 5-3 Big East) trailed by as many as 12 before making their big comeback. A 16-5 run evened the score at 53-53 and a fallaway 3-pointer by Hansbrough put Notre Dame in front 60-57 with 10:28 remaining.

Darius Johnson-Odom scored 25 points for the Golden Eagles (13-7, 4-3), who shot a torrid 61.5 percent from the field in the first half, but 29 percent in the second.

Carleton Scott added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Tyrone Nash scored 13 points for Notre Dame, which avenged a 79-57 loss at Milwaukee on Jan. 10. Scott Martin added 10 points.
