Freshman Brandon Knight led the way with 19 points and six rebounds and DeAndre Liggins added 15 points as No. 15 Kentucky raced past Louisiana State, 82-44, on Saturday.

Terrence Jones scored 17 off the bench and Darius Miller finished with 15 for the Wildcats (14-3, 2-1 SEC), who dominated on the defensive end by holding LSU to 26 percent from the floor, including 3 of 24 from 3-point range.

Kentucky put it away in the first half, holding the Tigers to 18 percent (6 of 33) from the floor while knocking down seven 3-pointers en route to a 48-19 edge at the break. Knight had 13 in the opening period. Josh Harrellson added 10 rebounds, helping the Wildcats jump out to a 26-17 advantage on the glass.

LSU (10-8, 2-1) played better in the second half but it was too little, too late as Kentucky coasted to the finish.

The Wildcats hit the road next week for visits to Alabama and South Carolina but will not face the heart of the SEC until the beginning of February, when Florida, Tennessee and Vanderbilt will be looking to knock off the conference’s lone ranked team.
