Dwight Buycks scored a career-high 21 points and Marquette rode a white-hot shooting night to a convincing 79-57 victory over No. 11 Notre Dame on Monday evening.

The Golden Eagles (12-5 overall, 3-1 Big East) hit 12 of 17 shots from 3-point range, with Buycks hitting all five of his tries from behind the arc. Jae Crowder hit 4 of 6 from long range, while Darius Johnson-Odom connected on 3 of 5. Marquette shot 53.1 percent (26 of 49) overall.

Notre Dame stayed close early despite a subpar offensive effort and trailed by just four early in the second half, before Marquette pulled away. Runs of 8-2, 9-2 and 14-3 helped the Golden Eagles stretch their lead to 71-46 with 5:34 remaining.

Crowder added 18 points for Marquette, while Eric Atkins paced the Fighting Irish (14-3, 3-2 Big East) with 15 points.

The two schools will meet again at Notre Dame on Jan. 22.
