Jeff Allen’s 24 points and 11 rebounds led Virginia Tech to a 71-59 win over Florida State Saturday in Blacksburg, Va.

Virginia Tech (10-4, 1-1 ACC) won its sixth straight game, thanks to Allen and a strong performance from the foul line. The Hokies made 34-of-37 free throws (91.9 percent).

Florida State (11-5, 1-1), which has lost three of its last five games, led 19-17 with 6:44 in the first half after a 3-pointer by Michael Snaer. But the Hokies closed the half with 12 unanswered points to go up 29-19. Erick Green had six of those 12 points for the Hokies.

Malcolm Delaney finished with 13 points and seven rebounds for Virginia Tech, and Green added 12 points and four steals. Delaney and Green combined to go 15 for 15 from the foul line.

Chris Singleton’s 22 points and eight rebounds paced Florida State. Snaer scored 11 points and had four assists.
