Vanderbilt torched Southeastern Louisiana with 51 percent shooting from the field en route to an 85-52 victory Saturday.

Jeffrey Taylor and Steve Tchiengang scored 15 points apiece for Vanderbilt (8-2), which has won eighth straight and improved to 6-0 at home. Lance Goulbourne had 13 points and John Jenkins scored 12 for Vanderbilt, which led from the start.

Gary Dixon had a game-high 16 points for the Lions (5-4), who shot 32 percent from the field.

Vanderbilt shot 62.5 percent in the first half and led 52-24 the break.

This was Vanderbilt's first game since an 85-82 overtime loss at Missouri on Dec. 8.

The Commodores defeated the Lions 80-58 in the first meeting in 2002.
