Tyler Zeller had 27 points, including six free throws in the final 90 seconds, to lead North Carolina to an exciting 75-73 victory over No. 11 Kentucky at the Smith Center on Saturday.

Zeller shot 8-of-12 from the floor and 11-of-12 from the line and added nine rebounds and five blocks. The center had 14 points in the second half.

The Tar Heels came back from a 57-51 deficit with 11:49 left in the game. A Zeller layup tied the game at 61-61 with 6:46 to play. After Zeller's free throws helped Carolina to the lead, Marshall Strickland split two free throws with 5.6 ticks left, and a half-court heave by Doron Lamb came up empty at the buzzer.

John Henson had 13 points and 12 boards and freshman Harrison Barnes added 12 points for North Carolina (5-3), which shot 42.1 percent from the floor but just 1-of-11 from the arc.

Freshman Lamb scored 24 points off the bench for Kentucky (5-2), which got 15 points from freshman point guard Brandon Knight.
