John Jenkins scored a game-high 22 points as Vanderbilt scored a convincing 92-59 victory over Grambling State on Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn.

It was the first of a four-game homestand for the Commodores (4-1), who have won two in a row following a three-point loss to West Virginia in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Grambling State (1-5) kept the pressure on the Commodores throughout much of the first half, and battled them to a 38-38 tie late in the period.

Jenkins sank two free throws with 41 seconds left in the half to give the Commodores a 40-38 lead, and Vanderbilt opened the second half with a 7-0 run.

Brad Tinsley had 14 points, five assists and four rebounds despite five turnovers. Steve Tchiengang came off the bench for 12 points and seven rebounds, and Festus Ezeli had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Commodores.

Justin Patton paced Grambling State with 20 points.
