The Big 12 North remains one of the strongest divisions in college basketball, and Iowa State is doing its best to stay with trendsetters Kansas State, Kansas and Missouri.

The Cyclones continued their perfect season with an easy 91-51 victory over Kennesaw State on Wednesday in the Global Sports Hy-Vee Challenge at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

Iowa State (5-0) limited the Owls to 34.5 percent shooting. The Cyclones had already held back-to-back opponents to below 30 percent shooting – Alabama State (27.1 percent) and Drake (22.4) - for the first time since 1950.

Iowa State’s offense wasn’t bad either. The Cyclones had six starters reach double-digits in scoring. Melvin Ejim, Jake Anderson and Diante Garrett led the way with 14 points apiece.

The Cyclones held a 48-29 lead at halftime, and finished 10 for 19 (52.6 percent) from 3-point range. They already lead the Big 12 Conference in 3-point percentage (44.8 percent, 10th in the nation) and 3-pointers made per game (9.8).

Markeith Cummings scored a game-high 18 points for the Owls (2-4).
