Villanova's three-guard attack was simply too much for Bucknell.

Senior standout Corey Fisher scored 24 points, while backcourt mates Maalik Wayns and Corey Stokes finished with 15 and 11, respectively, as the sixth-ranked Wildcats beat the visiting Bison 68-52 at The Pavilion in the season opener for both.

The trio also sank nine of Villanova's 10 3-pointers. The Wildcats held the Bison to 6-of-25 first-half shooting (24 percent) in gaining a 28-16 halftime lead.

Darryl Shazier had 12 points, while Mike Muscala and Cameron Ayers scored 10 each for Bucknell.

Villanova was without freshman forward JayVaughn Pinkston, who was charged on Thursday with two counts of simple assault and harassment following an altercation over the weekend. Pinkston was named New York State Player of the Year and a McDonald's All-American last year.

The Wildcats entered the season following a disappointing end to 2009-10, when they were bounced from the NCAA tournament in the second round by Saint Mary's 75-68 after barely avoiding a first-round upset with a 73-70 overtime win against Robert Morris. Villanova finished 25-8 overall.

Bucknell is coming off a 14-17 campaign.
