Heat 91, Grizzlies 86: Ray Allen scored 18 points and ignited a late flourish as host Miami rallied to defeat Memphis.

LeBron James added 15 points and seven assists as the Heat remained three games behind the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference race. Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers scored 14 points apiece for Miami, which rolled off 11 straight points as part of a game-ending 14-2 flurry.

Zach Randolph had 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who lost for only the second time in eight games. Marc Gasol added 14 points before leaving with an ankle injury while Mike Conley and Courtney Lee had 12 points apiece as Memphis fell into eighth place in the Western Conference playoff race.

The Heat trailed 84-77 before Allen drained a 3-pointer with 3:27 to go to start the string of 11 consecutive points. Wade hit two free throws with 1:04 remaining to put Miami ahead and James followed with a basket to make it a two-possession game as the Heat won for only the fourth time in the last 10 games.

Miami led 45-43 at halftime but Memphis used a 10-0 run in the third to open up a 12-point lead. The Heat finished the period with a 16-4 surge to knot the score at 68 entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gasol departed with 6:34 remaining in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle and will be further evaluated on Saturday. … Heat C Chris Bosh was just 4-of-15 shooting while scoring 11 points. … The Grizzlies had a 58-34 edge in points in the paint.
