Wizards 102, Pelicans 96: Trevor Ariza had 21 points and 10 rebounds and John Wall scored 20 points as visiting Washington defeated New Orleans.

Bradley Beal tallied 17 points and Marcin Gortat contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Wizards, who have won six of their last seven road games. Jan Vesely added 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting and Nene scored 11.

Eric Gordon scored 23 points and Anthony Davis added 21 for the Pelicans. Brian Roberts tallied 11 points for New Orleans, which trailed by 21 after three quarters before making a fourth-quarter push.

The Pelicans outscored Washington 21-6 over the first nine-plus minutes of the final stanza to cut the deficit to 93-87. Ariza drained a 3-pointer to stem New Orleans’ momentum and Nene hit a jumper with 1:19 left to help send the Pelicans to their third straight defeat.

Washington used a 12-0 run to start the second quarter to take a 40-28 lead and expanded the margin to 61-44 entering the break. Gortat’s layup midway through the third gave the Wizards a 23-point edge before they settled for an 87-66 lead entering the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Beal and Wall each made three 3-pointers as Washington went 10-of-21 from behind the arc. … Gordon has scored more than 20 points in two of the last three games and fell three points short of matching his season high. … The Wizards had 13 offensive rebounds en route to a 46-37 edge on the boards.
