Ty Lawson tied a season high with 27 points and the Denver Nuggets snapped a five-game losing streak by outlasting the host Indiana Pacers 113-109 on Saturday night.

Arron Afflalo scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws with eight seconds to play, to help Denver stave off a comeback by Indiana.

Danny Granger scored 26 points and David West added 22 for the Pacers, who endured their first three-game losing streak of the season.

Corey Brewer, who missed the last three games due to the death of his father, added 19 points for shorthanded Denver, which fought back from a 13-point second-quarter deficit despite the absence of starters Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov.

Lawson's layup with 5:11 to play gave the Nuggets a 104-92 lead, but Paul George hit a pair of 3-pointers in a 13-2 run to pull the Pacers within 106-105.

Afflalo's 3-pointer restored the lead to six points and his two free throws iced it for Denver, which won for only the second time in nine games.

After Granger poured in 18 points to carry the Pacers to a 34-26 first-quarter lead, reserve guard A.J. Price scored eight of his 13 second-quarter points to extend Indiana's lead to 46-33.

The Nuggets stormed back with a 15-2 spurt, including 10 straight points, to take the lead before the teams went into halftime tied at 60-60.
