Stephen Jackson scored 21 points and the Charlotte Bobcats began a six-game road trip with a 94-89 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
Charlotte, which has won three of four, led 78-67 early in the fourth quarter before Sacramento went on a 9-1 run to close to 79-76 with 8:20 to play.
Jackson and Gerald Wallace helped the Bobcats regain control with two baskets apiece and Boris Diaw hit a 3-pointer to rebuild the lead to 92-82 with 1:02 to go.
Wallace scored 19 points, D.J. Augustin added 16 and Kwame Brown 13 and a season-high 18 rebounds for the Bobcats (18-25).
Tyreke Evans and Carl Landry scored 19 points apiece and Jason Thompson added 14 for Sacramento, which shot just 36 percent from the field. The Kings were coming off a 96-81 victory at Portland on Monday but failed in its bid to win consecutive games for only the second time this season and have dropped five of six.
The teams exchanged the lead throughout the first quarter before the Bobcats gained control. Diaw's basket broke a 21-21 tie and put Charlotte ahead for good early in the second period.
The Bobcats took a 47-33 lead late in the period and led, 52-42, at halftime.
