Gunnar Henderson homered twice, collected four hits in his first four at-bats and went 4-for-7 as the visiting Baltimore Orioles cruised to a 14-1 rout of the New York Yankees on Thursday night for a split of a four-game series.

Henderson opened the game with a homer off Luis Severino (1-4), singled in the second and in the Orioles' seven-run third, then added his second homer during Baltimore's five-run fourth.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Henderson became the first Oriole to get four hits through the first four innings since Cedric Mullins on April 4, 2021, at Boston.

Henderson grounded out in his fifth at-bat in the fifth and struck out in the eighth as the Orioles scored their most runs against the Yankees since a 14-5 win at New York on April 8, 2014.

Ryan O'Hearn drove in four runs, with three of the RBIs coming on a pair of hits in the third inning.

After Henderson hit his first career leadoff homer, the Orioles took a 3-0 lead on RBI doubles by O'Hearn and Cedric Mullins in the third. After the first out was recorded, rookie Jordan Westburg hit an RBI double before Henderson hit an RBI single three batters later that chased Severino.

Adley Rutschman hit an RBI single and O'Hearn drove in two with a single to make it 8-0.

Ramon Urias hit an RBI single with one out in the fourth before Henderson hit a three-run homer into the right field seats for a 12-0 lead. Following a walk to Rutschman and a double by Anthony Santander, O'Hearn lifted a sacrifice fly.

The Orioles scored their final run on a fielder's choice by Mullins in the eighth and finished with season highs in runs and hits (20). Baltimore also went 8-for-20 with runners in scoring position and drew eight walks.

Baltimore's Kyle Bradish (5-4) gave up three hits in six innings. Bradish got the big run support after exiting a game without a single run of support from the Orioles' offense for the sixth time on Saturday when Baltimore took a 1-0 loss to Minnesota.

Severino was rocked for seven runs and 10 hits -- one shy of his career high -- in 2 2/3 innings. He has allowed 16 runs and 19 hits in his two most recent outings, spanning 6 2/3 innings.

The Yankees ended the game with utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the mound for the fourth time this season and scored their run in the ninth when Oswaldo Cabrera scored on an error on a Billy McKinney grounder that would have ended the game.
